Children Picture Climate Change

23 Octubre 2008 232 views 3 comentarios

Paint for the Planet is an exhibit and auction of children’s art organized by the United Nations Environmental Programme.

After hearing José María Aznar and Vaklav Klaus question climate change yesterday, it is refreshing to experience what children of developing nations have to say on the subject.

I would like to hear Klaus tell to the face of these children that environmentalism is the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity“.

I wonder if Aznar, who calls environmentalists “the Inquisition of today“, would see these drawings as modern versions of Pedro Berruguete’s painting Auto de Fe.

I myself find them fantastic, and a reminder of the power of education. Education is certainly the most effective tool we have to change the world for the better.
